One will find here more details about individual authors and single works than is possible in the Bibliography. (See also the subsection on expanded treatments in the introduction.)
Excerpts contain longer verbatim citations from individual works, sorted and organized thematically (see for example Rathje et al. 2013, Archaeology in the Making). There may be more than one work under the heading of a single author.
Summaries are extended descriptive precis of a given work (see for example O’Brien and Lyman 2002, Seriation, Stratigraphy and Index Fossils). As in the bibliography, they may contain brief critical assessments.
Synopses: yet more comprehensive analyses are to be found in the Critical reviews section.
